GAP and Experian teamed up for a volunteer day in Ballymun on Friday last, 25th of February. The groups installed new raised beds to the gardens at St. Joseph’s Junior National School and Holy Spirit Church, Silogue. Both are for the benefit and use of local primary school children.
A series of events will be taking place in and around Ballymun for this year’s Fair Trade Fortnight, which runs from the 28th of February until the 13th of March. Hoorah!///

Other venues will include the Reco, the Axis and the Civic Centre all in Ballymun who will be hosting Fair Trade lunches over Fair Trade Fortnight.
Discover the history of chocolate, how it is made (the story from bean to bar), learn to ‘taste’ chocolate by sensory analysis and then find out how to make the perfect chocolate gnash. The Fairtrade Divine Wagon has a chocolate fountain where you can sample some of Divine’s delicious Fairtrade chocolate. Also with us are 2 special guests Isaac Baido and Stephen Boadi, cocoa farmers from Kuapa Kokoo in Ghana who are co owners of the Divine chocolate company. They will be there is explain how Fairtrade has impacted on their lives and the lives of those they work with. So while you sample some yummy chocolate you can learn about Fairtrade and the story of chocolate.

The Ballymun Garden Club will be meeting this wednesday, 2nd of March. The topic of the workshop will be seed sowing and will run from 18:30 to 20:00 in the Coultry Neighbourhood Centre. Ballymun Garden Club will be meeting on the first Wednesday of each month.
