Analyse misinformation and disinformation using GAP’s new classroom resources.

Misinformation is a huge issue that faces everyone, particularly students, in their daily lives. It challenges the fabric of our schools, communities, and democracies, and has grown so quickly that teachers and school find it difficult to keep up.

Our new classroom resources and activities give teachers some tools to critically analyse mis- and disinformation, using real-life, age-appropriate examples.  Best of all, they’re free!

Based on a thinking activity from Edward de Bono, our new resource supports students to look at live, prebunked examples of misinformation by using different modes of thinking, or ‘hats’ – emotional, critical, factual, positive, and creative. We’ve used it with students and teachers and it starts really powerful discussions about how we should respond to what we see online. It’s a great way to follow on from our misinformation video lesson – see below!

Our most recent video lesson was included in the ISSN’s Climate and Nature Summit 2025. This video is interactive and engaging, fits into one 40-minute class, and can be facilitated by teachers with little or no knowledge of the topic. Great for a change of pace at the end of the year!

See below the video for resources to support the video.
