2016 has seen the 10th annual Maths Week, an all island celebration of Mathematics from October 15th to 23rd.
TAKING MATHS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
These DPSM workshops took maths out of the classroom and into an applied setting OUTDOORS where group work and problem solving were required.
PRIMARY MATHS SKILLS
Tasks within our community garden challenged practical maths skills in estimation, angles, shapes and measurement.
Following that students carried out various planting activities that put all of these skills into practice.
Maths Week is always a superb opportunity for students to see and develop the connections between the real world and what they learn in the classroom.
