One of our little gems of stories from the Climate Heroes 2024 challenge was having a team for current and past volunteers in our GLAS Community Garden in Ballymun.
The GLAS Ballymun champions joined in with 60 other teams across the country to come together and do their little bit for this plant we all share.
The top 3 participants logged 439 climate friendly actions over the 12 days, saving nearly 408kg of CO2e in the process. Thats equates to driving (or not) a car for nearly 1,043km.
To celebrate the efforts for this wonderful team, we partnered up with GIY to give these amazing Ultimate GrowBoxes for the team champions. So “happy growing” to Julia and Shireen who can take the joys of growing together in the GLAS Garden in Ballymun back to where they currently reside.
And “Thank You” to the team in GIY for supporting this.
Their efforts were part of a huge community challenge with over 400 participants from the 60 teams who together saved over 43 tonnes of CO2e through 47,000+ climate friendly actions logged.
We love the power of this collective climate action.
