Global Action Plan is leading a new project for communities in rural areas of County Dublin.

Funded by Dublin Rural LEADER, our “Community Based Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Training for Rural Dublin” programme will be delivered in partnership with the Rediscovery Center, the Community Resource Network Ireland, The Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) network  and FH Wetlands Systems Ltd.

Unlocking the Power of Positive Action

In a world where fear and doom loom large over many climate change discussions, our project aims to break down barriers and inspire positive change. We believe that every individual and community has the potential to be an agent of environmental progress. By encouraging pro-environmental values and fostering environmental education, we empower rural Dublin to embrace sustainability and make a significant impact together.

A Journey Towards Resilience

We don’t lecture, and we don’t pretend to know everything. We bring people on a journey; a journey that starts where communities are on their paths towards learning and action.

Through comprehensive training – spanning themes like transport, water, biodiversity, waste, and energy – participants will explore the interconnections and dependencies that form the backbone of climate action. Together, we’ll develop tangible community action plans to foster just transitions and build climate resilience.

The programme is structured along 7 key thematic modules. Each module is designed to help participants explore key concepts and identify elements for subsequent action strategies.

Empowering Communities, Fostering Collaboration

As participants embark on this journey, we aim to bridge the “values perception gap”, by connecting like-minded individuals and communities across rural Dublin.

Our ultimate goal is to equip individuals and community groups with the knowledge, skills, and awareness needed to become climate champions.
