This year, Dublin Climate Action Week takes place between 12 and 18 May. As part of the festival of events, many Community Centres across Fingal County will be participating in a Climate Heroes challenge.
The Fingal Climate Heroes competition is an initiative of Global Action Plan, and this will be the third time we are partnering with Fingal County Council to run a climate challenge.
The aim of the competition is to show how each person and group can use simple and effective measures to reduce their own climate footprint on a daily basis, both at home and in work. Climate friendly activities can include using a keep cup, cycling or walking to work, using public transport, airdrying clothes, eating vegetarian and locally produced food, among many other activities that the challenge will highlight.
For the 2025 challenge, Community Centres are invited to enter a team comprised of their staff, volunteers or users.
The Community Centre Challenge will commence on Tuesday 6th May and run through to Sunday 18th May.
