We recently exhibited at the Transition Year Ireland (TYI) Expo in Punchestown, Co. Kildare. TYI is an information-packed event for Transition Year Students, Teachers and Parents providing access to information needed for a stimulating and challenging Transition Year.

It is always fantastic to see how student-led transition year can be, and the sheer number of students who wish to pursue environmental studies and projects for their transition year. We were thoroughly impressed!

The Expo was really diverse, from sports academies, elocution lessons, cookery schools, music, self-defence and much, much more! Everything for a TY student under one roof!

Among our favourites were Show Racism the Red Card – Irelands leading anti-racism organisation, Balance Wellbeing –  tailored student wellbeing programmes, and Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) who support to school leavers from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

WHO WE MET:

20160913_143030 We also met some talented ladies from Gorey Community School – Antoinette and Laura – who have made the international finals of EurOcean with their project Bags with Tags – check it out!

Bags with Tags is an original idea to help save our Oceans and their marine life from plastic bags as part of the Prof Mario Ruivo prize in association with EurOcean.

Good Luck Ladies!!
