This project was coordinated by Global Action Plan with participants from the Ballark Training Centre. The participants carried out a litter survey of the Ballymun Road and then created this video and a series of posters to reduce the litter in Ballymun.
Aaron is a member of the Global Action Plan Environmental Youth Network in Ballymun. This is a network of young people living in the local area who take environmental actions and link with other young people in Ireland and globally. Aaron speaks in this interview about his thoughts on environmental issues in Ballymun.
During their trip to the Field Studies Council in Derrygonnelly Co. Fermanagh in July 2011 the GAP Environmental Youth Network participants found a meadow full of butterflies one sunny afternoon.
This film and gardening project was coordinated by Global Action Plan in Ballymun. The participants are from the Ballymun Jobcentre's Invest to Save group. They renovated the Aisling Project garden in Balcurris in Ballymun, creating a clean and inviting place for the children there to grow their own vegetables and flowers. Through working on this garden the project gave the participants the opportunity to use their skills and energy to give back to their local community.
The participants of the GAP Environmental Youth Network pumped the tyres of 20 cars in the IKEA carpark to ensure the optimum tyre pressure, and therefore reduce C02 emissions and save on fuel costs.
