Teacher Training

Teacher TrainingThe Global Action Plan Summer Course ‘Environmental Education & Wildlife Gardens’ aims to provide teachers with a practical toolkit of activities and ideas for implementing the SESE curriculum. This is a week long Department of Education approved In-service training course. The course is very hands on, all activities are simple and replicable and will demonstrate:

  • How to start a school garden
  • Making a raised bed
  • Attracting wildlife into the school grounds
  • Tackling waste, water and energy audits
  • Conducting practical to teach the SESE curriculum in the classroom
  • Getting started on becoming a Greener School

all of which are supported by a range of class plans and resource sheets. Previous years have included day trips to the Botanic Gardens with talks from the Botanic Garden staff on certain areas of interest, like the walled garden and the training college.
