National Biodiversity Week, which runs from 14th-22nd May, is all about connecting people with nature and more importantly about communicating the importance of biodiversity in our everyday lives. As part of Biodiversity Week 2016, Global Action Plan will be hosting a day of activities with local primary schools in Ballymun on 16th May focusing on this years’ theme – “It’s time to go wild“.

We will be taking local schools in Ballymun to Poppintree park to take part in a nature trail with a difference! Witness all the amazing insects, spiders and birds that can be found in the beautiful Poppintree park. It doesn’t end there though, we will also learn how to identify all the trees in the park. We will also discover why trees are so important, now, throughout our history and even in our myths and legends!
